It is a great and exciting time to be a Maryland football fan as there is a tremendous buzz on campus regarding our team. Nationally ranked No.25 in the country, Randy Edsall’s Maryland Terrapins are 4-0 and off to their best start since 2001. With an ACC match-up against undefeated and eighth-ranked Florida State in Tallahassee on Saturday at noon, it is great to see the growing excitement and support for our team.
Outscoring their opponents a combined 159-41, the Terrapin offense is averaging 498.5 yards per game ranking them 2nd in the ACC and 18th in the NCAA in total offense.
The defense has been suffocating offenses across the nation allowing only 41 points, an average of 10.3 point per game, in the first four games of the season. Maryland is tied for fifth nationally in takeaways with 13 and tied for first nationally in sacks with 17. Their hard work has paid off as they are rated the sixth overall defense in the FBS.
The Terps are playing aggressive on all sides of the ball, creating an exciting and electric team to watch and cheer on. The team has the talent and leadership in Coach Edsall and his staff to continue to be a dynamic football team. Saturdays at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium should continue to be a lot of fun and very special for years to come!
Maryland returns home for its ACC home opener against Virginia on Saturday, October 12 at 3:30 p.m. Our team is deserving of your support with a capacity crowd at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Bring your family, pack the house, wear red, and be loud as the season grinds into our final run in a challenging ACC slate. Tickets start at just $30 and you can purchase them online at umterps.com.
Come cheer the Terps to victory against our border rival for what may be the last time in College Park. I look forward to seeing a sea of red on upcoming Saturdays this fall on campus.
