TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 58-57 win over Alabama Tuesday night.

- The Terps improved to 25-12 on the season with the win over Alabama. It's the most wins by a Maryland team since 2006-07, when the Terps were 25-9.

- Maryland will face the winner of tomorrow night's Virginia-Iowa game in the semifinals on Tuesday, April 2, at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Terrapins' all-time record in the NIT is now 14-6.

- With today's game, the 37th this season, Maryland matched the school record for games played in a season (also 37 in 1985 - 25-12 record).

- Maryland advanced to the NIT semifinals for the third time in history and improved to 3-0 all-time in the quarterfinals. The Terrapins' previous two appearances in the semifinals were in 1972, when they defeated Jacksonville and then Niagara to win the title; and 2005, when they lost in the semis to South Carolina.

- Alex Len recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. It was his sixth of the season and first since the home win over Boston College on Jan. 22. Len also matched a career high with five blocks, marking the 11th time this season Len has had three or more blocks in a game.

- Alabama cut the Maryland lead to 48-47 before Maryland called timeout with 4:56 to play. Coming out of the timeout, the Terrapins hit 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions: Pe'Shon Howard hit the first and Jake Layman hit two in a row to stretch the lead to 57-49 at the under-4 timeout.

- Prior to tonight, Alabama had won 12 straight games at home, with the last loss coming on Dec. 30 vs. Tulane.

- For the third time this season, Maryland used a starting lineup of Alex Len. The Terrapins are 2-1 with that lineup (W-IUPUI, L-Florida State).

- Maryland shot 50 percent in the game (23-46). The Terps are 14-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better.

- Dez Wells had 13 points, his 10th straight with double figures, and is averaging 17.8 points per game over the last 10 games.
