OTTAWA, Ontario - Former Maryland women's lacrosse standout Dana Dobbie was named to Team Canada's Top 25 roster as the team prepares for the 2017 FIL Women's Lacrosse World Cup.

Dobbie was one of 41 Canadians to compete at the Team USA Fall Classic earlier this month. The Canadian coaching staff will host training camps in January and May before trimming the roster to 18 players for the World Cup.

A 2008 graduate of Maryland, Dobbie was a two-time ACC Player of the Year. She was a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist in 2007 and 2008 and an IWLCA All-American in both seasons. Dobbie was named the IWLCA Midfielder of the Year in 2008.

A native of Guelph, Ontario, Dobbie competed on the 2009 and 2013 Canadian FIL World Cup teams, bringing home a bronze and silver medal, respectively. Dobbie was named to the 2013 World Cup All-World Team.

Dobbie competed professionally for the Baltimore Ride in the inaugural UWLX season this summer, finishing as the regular season scoring champion. She is currently an assistant coach at Loyola.
