COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Forwards Brianna Fraser and Stephanie Jones each scored 24 points as the 15th-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team (3-2) defeated Howard (0-4), 111-49, Tuesday evening in the XFINITY Center.

Jones and Fraser both set career highs in scoring vs. the Bison. Kristen Confroy (19), Blair Watson (18) and Ieshia Small (11) also scored in double digits. Fraser and Confroy also posted 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively, for double-doubles.

"I thought we showed a lot of character and toughness tonight," head coach Brenda Frese. "We practiced really hard yesterday and took a lot and gained a lot from our film session. I thought we came out ready to play for 40 minutes tonight so it’s a great feeling when you can share the basketball like we did, with 27 assists. The unselfishness we displayed and the number of career highs for a lot of players, again I think just shows the mentality of this team and how much they want to continue to get better and improve every night."

The Terps shot 55 percent in the game, including 55 percent from three-point range. Maryland tallied 52 points in the paint and 35 bench points.

The Terrapins outscored Howard 33-6 in the first quarter. Jones had 15 first-half points as Maryland built a 56-19 halftime lead.

A three-pointer from Confroy put Maryland ahead of the 100-point threshold in the fourth quarter. Watson notched four of the Terps’ 15 steals while Jones had three blocks.

Maryland is ranked No. 15 in both the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Coaches poll.

Next, the Terrapins will travel to Florida to compete in Miami's Thanksgiving Tournament Friday and Sunday. The Terps will take on Kennesaw State (0-4) Friday at 2 p.m. in Coral Gables and the Hurricanes (3-1) Sunday at noon.

Friday’s game will not be streamed online, but Sunday’s contest will be streamed online around the world through the ACC Network. Fans can watch at WatchESPN.com or the Watch ESPN app. Live stats will be available and live updates will be posted to the Terrapins' Twitter feed at @umdwbb.
