COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Senior Ekaterina Tour and freshman Eva Alexandrova each earned a pair of wins as the Maryland women's tennis team (9-9, 3-4 B1G) defeated No. 38 Nebraska, 4-2, on Sunday.

Tour's singles win clinched the match victory for the Terps, as the senior beat Claire Reifeis, 6-2, 7-5, to bring home a victory.

It was Maryland's second victory of the weekend after beating Iowa on Saturday.

The Terps took an early lead after clinching the doubles point. After Nebraska picked up a win at third doubles, Tour and junior Arnelle Sullivan kept Maryland in it with a 6-2 win at second doubles.

With both sides needing a win at first doubles to clinch the first point of the match, Maryland's top doubles duo of Alexandrova and Millie Stretton emerged victorious, beating Del Cueto and Lashway of Nebraska by a score of 7-5.

The Huskers were able to take control of the match to begin singles play, winning at third and fouth singles to take a 2-1 lead. Alexandrova was then able to knot the score up at two shortly after, winning 6-1, 6-4, at first singles over Lashway.

Freshman Zoe Kulkarni then secured her fifth-consecutive win and her tenth triumph of the season, beating Jeannie Lozowski, 7-5, 6-4. Kulkarni trailed 4-0 in the second set before rattling off six straight points to win the match.

Tour's win at second singles then clinched the match for Maryland and gave the Terps their third conference win of the season.

Maryland will be back in action next weekend, concluding its road schedule with a pair of matches at Michigan and Michigan State.
