Powell, Meneau Compete at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Seniors Micha Powell and Lisa Meneau both competed for Maryland Thursday in the semifinals of their events at the 2017 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. 

Powell ran in heat one of the women's 400 meter run, finishing seventh in her heat and 16th overall with a time if 53.33. Powell ends her Terrapin career as a four-time NCAA Championship qualifier, a two-time Second Team Indoor All-American while having a hand in six school records.

Meneau got off to a strong start in the opening heat of the women's 400 meter hurdles, but DQ'd midway through the race to bring her weekend to a close. Meneau finishes her Maryland career with seven school records to her name, while enjoying her best season as a Terp this season setting new school records in the 60 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles.

Sophomore Greg Thompson is set to compete in the men's discus tomorrow starting at 8:05 pm (ET) at Hayward Field.
