COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland football linebacker Jalen Brooks and kicker Adam Greene were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom when they were named to the National Football Foundation's 2018 Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday.

In order to be considered for membership in the Hampshire Honor Society, a player must be a starter or significant contributor in his last year of eligibility who maintains a cumulative 3.20 grade-point-average or higher throughout the course of his undergraduate study.

Brooks, a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, graduated with a degree in Finance while boasting a 3.27 GPA. A three-time Dean’s List selection, Brooks is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Business and Management.

Brooks appeared in all 12 games as a senior in 2017, making three starts at linebacker. He totaled 30 tackles on the year, including matching his career high with 10 stops against No. 5 Wisconsin on October 21. Brooks also recorded a sack in Maryland’s season-opening win at No. 23 Texas.

Greene, a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, had an undergraduate GPA of 3.96 while double majoring in Finance and AFO Systems. He was on the Dean’s List every semester and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Greene is expected to graduate with his Master’s Degree in Finance this May.

Also named to the 2017 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and a nominee for the 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Greene appeared in 13 games as a junior in 2016, making 9-of-14 field goals and 37-of-38 extra point attempts.
