Bracher Wins Salty Dog Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Junior Emily Bracher led the way for the Terps at the Salty Dog Invitational Saturday, winning the meet with a mark of 22:28.45. Her finish helped power Maryland to a second place overall finish as a team, with three Terrapins finishing inside the top-10. The meet victory was the first of the Freehold, N.J. native’s career.

Sophomore Brit Lang finished fourth for UMD (22:52.20) with fellow sophomore Paige Novak (22:59.02) right on her heels to place fifth.

Sophomore Caroline Augelli also notched a top-20 finish, crossing the line in 23:45.22 while freshman Molly Barrick rounded out Maryland’s top-five scorers taking 21st in the field.

Freshman Courtney Mann (24:04.12) and Julia Reicin (24:40.16) both found themselves inside the top-35, taking 24th and 34th respectively.      

Navy would claim the overall meet title with 29 team points scored. American was third with 56 points.

The Terps will enter a brief hiatus from competition before returning to action on Friday, September 29 for the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.
