COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's golf team will travel to Johns Island, S.C. this weekend to compete in the Briar’s Creek Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston.
The Terrapins will compete Monday, March 19 through Tuesday, March 20 at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, a par-72, 6,101-yard course.

The Terrapins will compete against four top-50 teams in No. 23 Illinois, No. 29 North Carolina, No. 37 East Carolina and No. 40 Campbell and will also compete against Boston College, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Georgetown, Kansas, Old Dominion, Penn State, South Florida, Texas Tech and UNC Asheville.
The Terrapins placed fifth out of 13 teams when they last played at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. Freshman Virunpat Olankitkunchai led the Terps with a one-under-par 215 (69-75-71), which earned her seventh in the individual standings and Big Ten Golfer of the Week.
