LINCOLN, Neb. -- Junior heavyweight Youssif Hemida earned his sixth B1G dual victory of the season in Maryland's (3-6, 0-6 B1G) 48-3 loss at No. 16 Nebraska (2-3, 1-1 B1G) on Sunday.

Hemida defeated Derek Jensen, 7-4 by decision, to earn his 17th victory of the year. The win was his fourth-consecutive victory and his second of the weekend. He has also posted an impressive 10-0 record against conference opponents throughout the season, knocking off four additional Big Ten wrestlers in the Road Runner Open and the Midlands Championships.

"Youssif continued his strong season today," head coach Kerry McCoy said. "He wrestled a strong opponent and was able to fend off a strong third-period effort to earn the win. Despite the result, we saw some good signs from guys we're looking to get back on track, and we'll look to get healthy and use those things as we get ready for an in-state opponent at Navy next week."

Nebraska's lineup featured five ranked wrestlers, with four picking up bonus point victories. Freshman Danny Bertoni made his collegiate dual debut in the match for Maryland.

Maryland will now look toward a three-match non-conference stretch, beginning with a dual at Navy on Friday, Jan. 12. The Terps will then battle two Ivy League foes when they travel to Harvard and Brown on Jan. 14 before returning to Big Ten wrestling on Jan. 21 against No. 1 Penn State.
