The season premiere of Maryland Sports Spotlight, a series that provides an inside look at Maryland Athletics, airs Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet.
In addition to Tuesday’s episode, new webisodes will debut on umterps.com on Tuesday and Friday throughout the year.
The 30-minute show provides viewers a look at the many exciting stories surrounding Maryland Athletics and its student-athletes.
The series, hosted by the ‘Voice of the Terrapins’ Johnny Holliday, will debut with a feature on Maryland senior quarterback C.J. Brown. The cameras followed Brown during the first day of training camp as he continued his preparation for Maryland’s season opener against Florida International on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 12:30 p.m. at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
It will also include a look at wide receiver Stefon Diggs as he builds off a record-setting freshman season heading into the 2013 campaign.
The show will also check-in with women’s soccer goalkeeper Rachelle Beanlands and will feature two former women’s lacrosse players who recently helped the United States capture the FIL World Cup Championship.
Finally, the show will catch up with Welma Luus, who is a dual-threat student-athlete competing in both field hockey and tennis.
The debut episode will re-air on Comcast SportsNet on Saturday at noon.
