Terps Prepare For High Performance

Maryland alumni, student-athletes prepare for annual U.S. event

Meharg on Long: "Meredith had a medical redshirt last season, so this is her third year with us after transferring and she is ready to go. She is enjoying her teammates and her experience at Maryland. Playing left forward, she's a very good goal finisher and we'll look for her to score goals this season."

International Experience: Named to the USFHA EPTC Thundersticks in 2005.

As a redshirt senior in 2004: A medical redshirt season.

As a junior in 2003: One of the top two reserves off the bench ... made first-career start as a Terp vs. Quinnipiac (Sept. 2) ... also made starts vs. Drexel (Sept. 16) and at North Carolina (Oct. 25) ... scored goals vs. Rutgers (Sept. 13), vs. Old Dominion (Oct. 18) and in the first round of the NCAA Tournament vs. Penn State (Nov. 16) ... dished out assists in back-to-back wins vs. Pacific (Sept. 14) and vs. the Dragons ... played in every game ... named to National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad.

At Boston University in 2001-02: As a true freshman, saw action in 19 games, starting in 15 ... named to the America East All-Rookie team, conference Rookie of the Week on Sept. 30, 2001 ... scored first-career goal in a 5-1 victory over Albany during her freshman season ... assisted on the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Delaware in the 2001 America East Championship ... as a sophomore, started in 21 games in the backfield ... tied for second on the team with five assists.

Before College: Team co-captain at Ocean City High in 2000 ... selected a high school first team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association in 2000 ... helped lead team to three-consecutive state championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999 ... first team all-state in 2000 ... named first team All-Cape Atlantic League in 1999 and 2000 ... selected South Jersey Offensive Player of the Year in 2000 ... also played varsity lacrosse while setting school records for season and career goals.
