COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Senior Tiffany Marsh had her first-career hat trick, leading Maryland to a 6-0 rout of Stanford on the second day of the Terrapin Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Terps improved their all-time record at the invitational to 18-0 and are 7-0 on the season.

Freshman Sarah Scholl (Center Valley, Pa.) opened up the scoring early on, deflecting senior Meredith Long's (Ocean City, N.J.) pass into the net less than three minutes into the game. Scholl is now 2-for-2 in shots on the season.

The Terps did not make it easy for Stanford (1-7), allowing the Cardinal one shot in the game, while Maryland attempted 24.

Maryland was firing on all cylinders, despite a solid performance from Stanford goalkeepers Madison Bell and Sarah Scheller who combined for 10 saves.

Marsh (Marathon, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the afternoon at 14:57. After junior All-American Paula Infante (Santiago, Chile) converted on one of the Terps' eight penalty corners, Marsh knocked in back-to-back goals, including a diving tally in the 30th minute, to put the game out of reach, 5-0.

Marsh then picked up her second assist of the afternoon, dishing the ball to senior Jackie Ciconte (Wilmington, Del.) in the 65th minute to cap the scoring.

Marsh's eight points on the afternoon are also a career high.

In the earlier game, American defeated California, 3-1, tallying all three goals in the second half after trailing, 1-0, at the break.
