COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland field hockey team will celebrate its former Terrapins Saturday with the annual alumni game and events in College Park.
"What an exciting field hockey alumnae weekend in Maryland," head coach Missy Meharg said. "USA Field Hockey, past and present Terps, along with family and friends of Keli Smith Puzo will celebrate Keli's decorated career as a fearless attacker on the international hockey stage Friday in Annapolis."
Terp alum Keli Smith Puzo recently retired from the U.S. National Team and was on the 1999 national championship team. She is also a two-time Olympian, having competed in Beijing and London. The event, hosted by her former Team USA teammates Dina Rizzo and Carrie Lingo, will take place at The Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge in Annapolis.
On Saturday, the Terps will host a reunion and alumni game at 1 p.m. at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Families are welcome and current Terrapins will serve as coaches, umpires, managers, ball runners, statisticians and help with child care on site.
After the alumni game, all are welcome to join a tailgate before the top-ranked men's lacrosse team takes on Johns Hopkins at 3 p.m.
