Several former Maryland greats are poised to battle for gold Saturday as the United States takes on Canada in the 2013 FIL World Cup Championship at 3 p.m. in Oshawa, Canada.
Undefeated and top-seeded Team USA toppled England 21-8 Friday to advance to the title match Saturday. Team USA – led by former Terrapin Tewaaraton winners Caitlyn McFadden and Katie Schwarzmann - is seeking its seventh championship.
Canada dropped Australia for the second time in the tournament and punched its ticket to its first ever gold medal game with an 11-7 decision Friday afternoon. Former Maryland standout Dana Dobbie was stellar, racking up four goals against Australia.
England and Australia will meet in the bronze medal match at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
