International Experience: Named to the U.S. Under-21 Team in June 2014...on the U.S. Under-19 team since 2011...she also played in the 2011 Junior National Championships and won gold in the 2010 Junior Olympics with her U.S. team.
As a junior (2014): Saw action in all games and started in 19...named to NFHCA All-Region Second Team and earned a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award…scored first goal of the year off a pass from Hanks in 22nd minute vs. #10 Massachusetts (Aug. 29)...scored to make it a two-goal lead for the Terps off an open shot in the 52nd minute in 4-3 win over #4 Penn State (Oct. 10)...scored in the 16th minute for a 3-0 lead in eventual 9-0 win over Pennsylvania (Oct. 12)...scored in 34th minute off of a turnover to give the Terps' a 2-0 lead in 8-1 win over Princeton (Oct. 15)...scored Terrapins' second and seventh goals and assisted on one for five points in 8-1 rout of American (Oct. 29)…assisted on Terps’ second goal in 5-1 win over Princeton in the NCAA First Round (Nov. 15)…named to All-Big Ten Academic List…part of team that won first Big Ten championship in school history.
As a sophomore (2013): Saw action in all games and started in 19...scored first goal of the year when she tipped in a goal vs. #20 New Hampshire (Aug. 31)...scored gamewinner to put Maryland ahead at the end of the first half at Temple when she scored off a corner (Sept. 1)...fed Dessoye for Terps' first goal in 13th minute in 3-0 win at #8 Old Dominion (Sept. 6)...scored Terps' first goal and had an assist vs. Columbia (Sept. 14)...scored in 50th minute off a pass from Fluharty vs. Miami (Ohio) (Sept. 15)...scored game-winner in 53rd minute off a long hit from Turner in 3-2 win over #9 Boston College (Sept. 27)...assisted on Terps' third and fourth goals in 4-1 win at #7 UMass (Sept. 29)...scored Terps' fourth goal in 5-1 win at #7 Duke when she finished off a pass from Rissinger in the 61st minute (Nov. 2)...scored Maryland's first goal for 1-0 lead 8:44 into ACC Semifinal matchup vs. #8 Duke (Nov. 8)...assisted on Witmer's gamewinning goal to send Terps' to Final Four with 3-2 win over #8 Princeton (Nov. 17)...member of 2013 ACC Championship team...named to NFHCA National Academic Squad, the All-ACC Academic Team and the ACC Honor Roll.
As a freshman (2012): Saw action in 23 of the Terps' games and started in six...scored first career goal the same night she scored a hat trick to lead Terps to a come-from-behind win over #18 Boston College (Sept. 14)...scored twice in 52 seconds for 2-0 Maryland lead in win at #14 Wake Forest (Sept. 22)...notched first career assist in Terps' 6-0 rout of Temple on Witmer's goal (Sept. 30)...scored to tie it up in the first half at #4 Princeton (Oct. 2)...scored in Terps' win over UC Davis (Oct. 14)...knocked in a loose ball from Witmer to tie the game before halftime at #4 Connecticut in the NCAA Second Round (Nov. 11)...named to ACC Honor Roll.
Before Maryland: Started in Glenelg's midfield for all four years of her career and served as captain for three years...led them to four straight regional titles and back-to-back state titles in 2010 and 2011 for the first time in school history...believed to be the first player in Maryland history to break the 100-goal mark...named a 2011 NFHCA High School All-American and was twice named the Washington Post's All-Met Player of the Year...also named All-Howard County in each of her four years and Howard County Player of the Year in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons...twice named to the All-State team...also played lacrosse and basketball at Glenelg...comes to College Park as one of the most decorated high school players ever to hail from the state of Maryland.
Personal: Alyssa Jennifer Parker...parents are the late Doug Parker and Jean Parker...both parents went to Maryland...has three siblings, Dougie, Lauriann and Charlie...Lauriann plays field hockey and lacrosse and St. Mary’s College (MD)...lists her biggest sports thrill as setting someone up for a goal...sports hero is Ray Lewis...loves to ride 4-wheelers...came to Maryland because it was closest to home, a great team and atmosphere...also considered North Carolina, Michigan, UVA, Syracuse, and JMU...intends to teach elementary physical education.
