COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women’s basketball team released its 2013 non-conference schedule Friday, which is highlighted by home matchups with Connecticut and Ohio State, as well as a trip over Thanksgiving to the San Juan Shootout.
The Terrapins will host nine home games, plus two exhibitions, in November and December. They will open at South Florida, an NCAA Tournament team from 2012, on Nov. 8, then head back to College Park to welcome Loyola Nov. 10 in their home opener.
Maryland will take on defending national champion Connecticut on Nov. 15. The Terrapins played the Huskies twice last season. They fell 63-48 at Connecticut in December, then again in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
The Terps will take on local opponent George Washington on Nov. 19, then play at Towson on Nov. 23. Drexel will come to Comcast Center on Nov. 25.
Maryland will take a trip to Puerto Rico for two games in the San Juan Shootout over the Thanksgiving holiday. The Terrapins will play Texas Southern Nov. 28 and Ohio University Nov. 29.
Ohio State will travel to College Park for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Dec. 4. The Terps will host Siena and Delaware State on Dec. 9 and 14, respectively. Maryland will host Howard, College of Charleston and Wofford in the 12th annual Terrapin Classic Dec. 28 and 29.
The Terps will welcome Catholic University to Comcast Center for an exhibition at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Holy Family for an exhibition on Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.

The Terrapins went 26-8 in the 2012-13 season and advanced to the program’s fifth Sweet Sixteen in head coach Brenda Frese’s 11 years. This year, the Terps return four of five starters, two-time ACC Player of the Year Alyssa Thomas, and bring on four talented newcomers in Lexie Brown, A’Lexus Harrison, Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.
