CLEMSON, S.C. - The Maryland women's soccer team battled hard but fell to No. 5 Clemson in an ACC battle on Friday night at Riggs Field.

Clemson's Alison Sinclair scored the game's only goal on a lofting shot from about 25 yards out, which beat Maryland keeper Riki-Ann Serrins (Mission Viejo, Calif.) at the 51:58 mark in the second half.

Serrins kept Maryland in the game with several point blank saves throughout the game.

"Clemson is a really good team," said head coach Shannon Higgins-Cirovski. "Our players never gave up and played hard against a tough ACC opponent. I'm happy that we never let down."
