COLLEGE PARK, Md. - For the second year in a row the Maryland women's soccer team was upset by Richmond just days after recording a major upset victory of their own as the Terps fell 1-0 on Thursday night at Ludwig Field.

Just four day after upsetting No. 17 Duke and jumping to No. 14 in the NSCAA rankings, Maryland was shocked by the Spiders again. Last season, the then-No. 9 Terps were stunned by the Spiders, by the same 1-0 score, a week after beating No. 4 Penn State.

Richmond (1-1) scored the game's only goal as Laura Gincel took a pass from Anne Rieser on a fast break and lofted a shot over Maryland keeper Ali Wolff at the 65:53 mark.

The Terps (2-1) outshot the Spiders by a wide margin, 17-6 for the game and 11-2 in the scond half when Maryland controlled the ball for the most part.

Richmond's goalkeeper Kristen Samuhel was strong on goal making 10 saves. Maryland's Wolff made four saves in allowing her first goal of the season after recording back-to-back shutouts.

The Terps look to return to the winning side of the ledger this Sunday as they host East Carolina at 5 p.m., to conclude a tripleheader beginning with the men's soccer Maryland/FILA Classic.
