COLLEGE PARK, MD. -- The Maryland women’s soccer team will host their annual Red/White Scrimmage at Ludwig Field on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m.
Head Coach Jonathan Morgan said the scrimmage is scheduled for one hour, with each half slated for 30 minutes. Although the Terps enter Saturday’s scrimmage with six practices under their belt, Morgan and his staff are excited about seeing how is team responds in a game-like atmosphere.
“This is the first opportunity for our team to be involved in a full-sided match,” Morgan said. “We have competed with small numbers (5-on-5 and 6-on-6), and now we are looking forward to heading to a full side. We want to learn more about our players, see who is competing and where we are at this time.”
Maryland’s roster features 23 returning players and seven starters from a team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament and reached the finals of the ACC Championship.
Maryland opens its season, hosting an exhibition game against Loyola Maryland on Friday, August 16 at Ludwig Field at 7:00 p.m.
