COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Forwards Hayley Brock and Becky Kaplan and midfielder Olivia Wagner were named to the 2012 NSCAA All-Southeast Regional third team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced recently.
"I'm happy for Hayley, Becky and Olivia, because it's a bit of recognition for all of the hard work they have put in and the results they've achieved on the field," said Maryland head coach Jonathan Morgan. "These honors are also an indication of the program and the hard work and dedication of all of their teammates as well."
Brock, a native of Acton, Mass., earned her first NSCAA regional honor after leading the Terrapins in points (32), goals (13) and assists (6). Eight of Brock's 13 goals came in ACC matches and five of her 13 goals were game-winners.
Kaplan, a native of Oyster Bay, N.Y., earned her first NSCAA regional selection after posting career highs in goals (12), assists (6), points (30) and shots (53). Kaplan had a knack for scoring in key spots and had a team-best six game-winning goals this season.
Wagner, a native of Boulder, Colo., is also a first-time NSCAA regional honoree and did so after changing from her natural wide midfield position to a holding center midfield spot in 2012. In addition to being a key defensive component for the Terps, Wagner continued to be an offensive threat, especially in set-piece situations, scoring four goals and adding four assists.
