On Egan: A medical redshirt in 2000, Egan returns as a fourth-year junior this season … brings a wealth of experience as she has started in every game in which she has played (45) including every game of both the 1998 and ’99 seasons … an offensive threat with good size and speed who will return to the starting lineup this year.

2000 (Redshirt): Started in three games before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee … awarded a medical redshirt … scored four goals despite the limited action … scored twice in a season-opening 14-10 win over Duke (3/3) … also collected six ground balls and caused one turnover.

1999 (Sophomore): Started in all 21 games … netted 12 goals and seven assists for Maryland in 1999 … scored twice against Loyola (5/1) for her season-high … totaled 44 ground balls, and 24 draw controls for the Terps in 1999 … also forced 46 turnovers.

1998 (Freshman): Started in all 21 games … scored 22 goals and added 10 assists which ranked seventh on the team in scoring … recorded an amazing .373 shooting percentage … corralled 16 ground balls and forced two caused turnovers … posted hat tricks against Syracuse and Temple … scored two goals against North Carolina early in the season … charted a career-high two assists against Virginia during the regular season and versus North Carolina in the national semifinals … scored four points against Temple, scoring three goals and adding an assist.

Prep: Graduated from Columbia High School where she was the school’s all-time leading scorer in lacrosse … a two-sport athlete, playing both lacrosse and soccer … was named to the all-state soccer team … named captain of both the lacrosse and the soccer teams.

Personal: Meredith Lindsay Egan was born on March 14, 1979 … is the daughter of Priscilla and Tom Egan … majoring in family studies and sociology.
