Terrapin Women Defeat Quakers 2-0; Improve to 5-1
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland womens soccer team defeated the University of Pennsylvania Quakers this afternoon at Ludwig Field becoming the 1997 Puma Tournament Champions. In what was the first meeting between these two teams, the Terrapins played an impressive all around game, limiting the Quakers to just two shots on goal, the first coming almost three quaters into the first half.
Emmy Harbo scored both Maryland goals, the first coming at 53:15 on a one-timer from Keri Sarver. Harbos second goal came at 65:32 when Michelle Deville sent a cross pass from the corner that Harbo headed in.
Freshman goaltender Riki-Ann Serrins recorded her first shutout of the season as well as her first career shutout by stopping both Quaker shots. The Terrapins next home game is on October 10 when they will take on the University of North Carolina Tarheels at 7:00.
