GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Krista Pellizzi was named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week after leading the Terrapins to a 1-1 week against a pair of top five opponents. Pellizzi, who shares the honor with Duke's Katie Chrest, becomes the third different Terrapin to win the honor in as many weeks.

Last week, Kelly Kasper shared the accolade, and the previous week Delia Cox was honored by the league.

Pellizzi was involved in half of Maryland's scoring in the Terps' 14-11 upset victory over previously unbeaten and second-ranked Johns Hopkins. The junior midfielder led all scorers with seven points on four goals and three assists. She tallied an important goal, the eventual game-winner, late in the second half halting a Blue Jay 4-0 run just seconds after Johns Hopkins pulled to within one of the lead. Pellizzi also posted two ground balls, a draw control and a caused turnover in the victory.

Against No. 5 Georgetown, Pellizzi once again led all scorers with three goals and an assist. The North Massapequa, N.Y., native leads the Terps in scoring this season with 58 points (36 goals, 22 assists).

Pellizzi and the Terrapins will hit the field on Saturday in Chapel Hill as they square-off against North Carolina in a game scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
