Jen Adams Named National and Conference Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland senior midfielder Jen Adams has earned Street & Smith's's National Player of the Week honors as well as her fourth ACC Player of the Week nod of the season after she led the Terrapins to three wins over ranked teams this past weekend.

Adams started out the week by scoring five goals and adding an assist in a 17-5 win over No. 9 William & Mary. Then, in an excellent game against No. 5 Georgetown, she scored six goals and contributed four assists in a 13-9 victory.

In a 24-5 win over No. 19 Johns Hopkins on Saturday at Byrd Stadium, Adams scored a career-high eight goals and also tallied four assists. The 12 points versus Hopkins set a new Maryland single-game record breaking the mark of 11 set four times (once by Adams).

For the week, Adams racked up 19 goals and nine assists for 28 points, nearly averaging 10 points per outing (she averaged an amazing 9.2). She now has 392 career points, second on the NCAA career list and is on pace to become the most prolific scorere in the history of collegiate lacrosse by the end of the regular season.
