GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland senior Annie Collins became the third Terp in as many weeks to earn ACC Player of the Week honors after her career-high seven point performance against No. 13 Syracuse on Sunday. Collins joins Delia Cox and Greta Sommers who have earned the recognition.
The midfielder scored a career-high five goals in leading Maryland to a 20-4 win the Orange. The Ellicott City, Md., native also led the team with four ground balls and contributed two draw controls and one caused turnover as the Terps picked up their third straight win over a ranked opponent. In addition to her five goals, Collins recorded two assists for seven points.
Collins now leads the team in points with 42 on 19 goals and 23 assists.
The Terps will take on Virginia on Friday, April 29, at the ACC Tournament in Baltimore, Md.
