Five Terps Named Preseason All-America in Women's Lacrosse

COLLEGE PARK, Md - The University of Maryland women's lacrosse team had five of its student-athletes named to College Lacrosse USA's preseason All-America team for the 2001 season.

Attackers Jen Adams (Sr., Brighton, So. Australia) and Allison Comito (Sr., Glen Head, N.Y.) are joined by midfielder Quinn Carney (Sr., Flemington, N.J.) as first team selections. In addition to the first team honorees, Tori Wellington (Sr., Chestnut Hill, Md.) and Courtney Hobbs (Jr., West Lakes, So. Australia) were named as "At Large" (honorable mention) selections.

Adams, a two-time Brine/WLCA Player of the Year, enters the 2001 season with 297 career points (179 goals, 118 assists). She stands within reach of several Terp and NCAA career records including the all-time collegiate points lead. Comito has scored 192 points in back-to-back seasons and has one of the best shots in collegiate lacrosse. Carney is the Terrapins' top midfielder and enters the 2001 season with a 50-game scoring streak.
