Katie Schwarzmann was named Rookie of the Week while Karissa Taylor garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors after the Terps upended Duke last Saturday.

Schwarzmann tacked an assist, two draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers onto her career-high three-goal performance against the fifth-ranked Blue Devils to pick up her first weekly honor as a Terp.

Taylor played a vital part in Maryland's monumental 13-goal defeat of Duke, scooping up five ground balls, causing three turnovers and adding a pair of draw controls to help hold the Blue Devils to four scores, its lowest goal production since 2005.

No. 2 Maryland welcomes another Atlantic Coast Conference rival Friday night when No. 9 Virginia visits the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
