GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Greta Sommers was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her performances against fourth-ranked Georgetown and 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins.
Sommers, a senior defender from Chesterstown, Md., led the Terrapins against No. 4 Georgetown and No. 12 Johns Hopkins. On defense, Sommers stopped two of the nation's best scorers while also tallying a career high three points against Georgetown. On the week, Sommers recorded three goals and one assist for four points along with six ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Sommers is the first Terrapin to earn Player of the Week honors this season. She and the Terps will return to action on Saturday, April 16, at North Carolina.
