Women's Lacrosse Named ACC Preseason Favorite

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - College Lacrosse USA has tabbed Maryland as its preseason favorite in the ACC. It also lists the Terps matchup with Virginia in Charlottesville on March 16 as the best matchup in the conference.

Terrapin junior goalkeeper Alex Kahoe has been named as the preseason favorite for the conferences top goalkeeper. She returns after a stellar sophomore season where she posted a .644 save percentage and a 7.35 goals allowed average. Also named to the preseason All-ACC team are sophomore Jen Adams on attack, juniors Christie Jenkins and Kristin Sommar on attack and junior Tonia Porras on defense.

The Terps enter the 1999 campaign as the reigning national champions after handing Virginia an 11-5 defeat in last years NCAA championship game.
