GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Kelly Kasper was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week after leading the Terrapins to a win over Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., last weekend. It is Kasper's second ACC Player of the Week honor this season and is the fourth time in the last five weeks a Terp has been recognized by the conference.
Kasper led all scorers with six points on four goals and two assists as Maryland posted a 13-11 win over Boston College. After the Terps fell behind 5-2 early, Kasper sparked a 3-0 Maryland run to end the first half scoring a pair of goals and assisting on other to tie the game at 5-5. As the Eagles struck first in the first 60 seconds of the second half, Kasper once again led another 3-0 run with a goal and an assist to give Maryland the lead for good.
The sophomore midfielder would tally her fourth goal of the game, the eventual game-winner, at 11:49 in the second half. Kasper, a native of Eldersburg, Md., also registered two groundballs and a draw control, while forcing a game-high four caused turnovers.
Kasper and the Terrapins are back in action on Thursday, April 27, as Maryland takes on Boston College in the first round of the women's ACC Lacrosse Championship at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
