#3 Terps Vie for Fourth Straight ACC Title

DURHAM, N.C. - No. 3 seed Maryland faces top-seeded North Carolina for a shot at its unprecedented fourth straight title in the 2012 ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship Monday. First draw is slated for 7 p.m. and will be shown live on ESPNU and ESPN3.

The Terps (15-3) punched their ticket to the championship game with a 12-3 rout of Duke on Saturday. Maryland was led by seven points from Alex Aust, who has also tallied a tournament-record nine assists. The junior attacker paces the offense with 78 points.

North Carolina (14-2) is undefeated in ACC play this season and topped Virginia in its semifinal Saturday. The Tar Heels utilized a strong first half to edge Maryland 14-11 in the first meeting between the two storied programs earlier this month in Chapel Hill.

This is the third consecutive season Maryland and North Carolina have squared off in the ACC finals. Maryland leads the all-time series 18-10.
