GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland's Delia Cox was tabbed Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week after leading the Terrapins to a 3-0 week including wins over a pair of ranked opponents.
Cox started the week with a game-high, four-point performance in the Terrapins' 13-8 win over No. 9 Dartmouth. She paced Maryland's offense with three goals and an assist, while registering two groundballs and causing a pair of turnovers. After trailing 5-1, Cox sparked a 4-0 Maryland run to close out the first half scoring two goals in less than ten minutes including the equalizer at 4:27.
Against 16th-ranked Penn State, Cox tied a league, season-high with eight points on five goals and three assists. The senior midfielder also led the team with four groundballs, while adding three draws as the Terrapins downed the Nittany Lions, 16-8.
In Maryland's 17-8 win over Ohio State, Cox tied a game-high with five points on three goals and two assists. The Newbury, Mass., native scored her first goal of the game off a free position shot in the early stages of the first half. She also collected two draw controls in the win.
The weekly honor was the fourth of her career. She has been recognized once each year of her career.
Cox and the Terrapins are back in action this weekend as they host Virginia Tech on Friday, March 31 in a game slated to start at 7:00 pm.
