NEWTON, Mass. - Juniors Karri Ellen Johnson and Kristy Black combined for nine goals to pace No. 1 Maryland past No. 20 Boston College, 20-9, in Atlantic Coast Conference action Sunday.

Johnson (5g) led a group of five Terps in double-digit scoring, including Black (4), Laura Merrifield (3), Brandi Jones (2) and Katie Schwarzmann (2). Sarah Mollison dished out a game-high five assists and sophomore Alex Aust added three. Johnson and Mollison extended their streaks to 53 consecutive games with a goal and/or an assist.

The longest road trip of the season didn't slow down the Terrapin offense as it outscored Boston College 10-3 in the first half. Maryland (8-0, 3-0 ACC) utilized a 5-0 run in each half to pick up its 18th straight win.

"This was a great win for us today against a great Boston College team," head coach Cathy Reese said. "I was really pleased with our play at both ends of the field. We focused on a few things this week at practice and executed them well. This gives us great momentum moving into the second game of our road trip."

The Terps dominated the draw control category, racking up 13 more than BC, which fell to 7-2 with the loss. Johnson had a team-high five draw controls. Sophomore Iliana Sanza scooped up three ground balls to aid the defensive charge.

Maryland remains on the East Coast with a road contest at Stony Brook, the site of the 2011 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championships. Tuesday's tilt is slated for 4 p.m.
