Reese Named to Hall of Fame

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland head coach Cathy Reese will be inducted into the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame Saturday, Jan. 23.

Reese, who tallied her second Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year honor in the past three seasons in 2009, will be inducted alongside Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe, Theresa Ingram Kuhar, Laura Biggs Moan, Rob Shek, Martin D "Mitch" Tullai, Peggy Boutilier Williams, Brian Voelker and Matthew L. Wilson.

"I am incredibly honored to be inducted into the Greater Baltimore Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse," Reese said. "As a player and as a coach, the game of lacrosse has been amazing to me and I am very flattered to be recognized with some great contributors to the game that I am so passionate about."

Reese was a standout for Maryland from 1994-98 and amassed a 75-4 record while earning All-America honors as a junior and a senior. The Terps won four national titles while Reese was a student-athlete and captured another three when Reese roamed the sidelines as an assistant coach. Reese boasts a 55-8 record in her three seasons at the helm of the Maryland program and amassed an incredible 21-1 record last season while leading the Terps all the way to the NCAA Final Four.

The Ellicott City, Md., native is extremely active in the lacrosse community, serving on the NCAA lacrosse committee and selection committees for the Tewaaraton, All-American, and North/South. She is also chair of the Regional Advisory committee.

Former Maryland standout Theresa Kuhar (Ingram) joins Reese in the 2010 Hall of Fame class. Kuhar (Ingram) played for the Terps from 1991-94, scoring 45 goals and dishing out 33 assists in her four-year career while helping guide Maryland to the national title in 1992.
