COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's lacrosse incoming freshman class is ranked fourth in the country, according to Inside Lacrosse. Four of the five ACC schools are ranked as having top five recruiting classes in the country.

According to the publication, freshman Kelly Kasper is "the only athlete that was unanimously considered a blue chip by every coach." Terp freshmen Megan Cassara, Lauren Cohen and Katie Pumphrey were tabbed as "dark horses" in this year's freshman class.

The freshmen will join a squad that returns six starters, including midfielders Annie Collins and Acacia Walker, defender Greta Sommers and goalkeeper Kirah Miles. The Terps finished the 2004 season with a 15-5 record and made their 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
