Terp Duo Earn National Weekly Honors

Sophomore attacker Karri Ellen Johnson tallied her first career Player of the Week honor after receiving Rookie of the Week honors four times in 2009 during an impressive freshman campaign.

The sophomore continues to dominate on Maryland's attack, leading the Terps with 35 goals on the season. Most recently, Johnson led Maryland with four goals and an assist in a 12-6 victory over sixth-ranked Penn on Friday. Johnson took control in the second half against the Quakers, with three of her four goals coming in the final period.

The sophomore added five draw controls and a caused turnover in an impressive effort on the road.

Senior captain Caitlyn McFadden was named's Offensive Player of the Week after helping spark the Terps to pair of victories on the week.

McFadden helped the Terrapins drop two top-10 foes last week, notching four goals and four assists while snaring three draw controls and causing four turnovers. She added three ground balls as Maryland defeated No. 6 Penn and No. 7 Towson.

Johnson, McFadden and the rest of the Terps will spend the week preparing for an ACC showdown against No. 3 North Carolina in Chapel Hill Saturday.
