GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior midfielder Caitlyn McFadden has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, February 22.
McFadden lifted the second-ranked Terps to their first road win of the 2010 campaign at No. 18 Penn State Sunday. The senior from Phoenix, Md., tallied six goals, including four in the second stanza, to help Maryland erase a three-goal, first-half deficit against the Nittany Lions. McFadden added an assist and also tallied three draw controls to lead the Terps to a 2-0 record on the year.
McFadden, who ranks among the nation's best with a 27-game scoring streak, is also among the NCAA Division I active leaders in points and assists.
The Terps return to action Saturday, Feb. 27, with a tough ACC road contest at conference-rival Duke. Game time is scheduled for noon at Koskinen Stadium.
