As a Freshman in 2010: Saw action in eight matches in her rookie campaign...picked up a draw control in her first collegiate contest against Penn State (2/21)...scored a career-high two goals on a mere three shots against New Hampshire (3/13).

Prep: As a senior, Matz was all-conference, second team all-metro, Baltimore City Player of the Year, Baltimore Messenger Player of the Year, Baltimore Sun All-Baltimore City and was tabbed to play in the Under Armour All-American game...a Tewaaraton nominee, Inside Lacrosse Magazine Junior Top Recruit, Baltimore Sun All-Baltimore City, Towson Times All-Star, and selected to play for the Mid-Atlantic Team at the 2008 National Bryn Mawr, earned the Varsity Cup in 2006 and 2007 while notching scholar-athlete awards in 2005, 2007 and 2009...also a standout in soccer, where she was a two-time captain and All-Baltimore City.

Personal: Sarah Brittney Matz was born Nov. 29, 1990...daughter of Samuel and Patricia Matz...father, Sam, played football for Johns Hopkins in the mid-70s...has two sisters, Amanda and Erica...on the Honor Roll at Bryn Mawr from 2005-2008...also earned Scholar-Athlete Award and was in National Honor Society...lists committing to Maryland to play lacrosse as her biggest athletic thrill...undecided on major.
