Terps Garner Synapse Sport National Honors

The Maryland women's lacrosse program took three of the top seven national postseason awards announced by Synapse Sports Tuesday.

Taylor Cummings garnered rookie of the year honors for NCAA Division I.

In addition to Maryland's top honors, Aust, Cummings, Schwarzmann and Alice Mercer also landed on the All-Rookie team.

Synapse Sport breakdowns of each award:

Midfielder of the Year: Katie Schwarzmann, Maryland
Schwarzmann helped the Terps to an undefeated regular season, leading the team in caused turnovers and ground balls while ranking second in scoring and draw controls.

Attacker of the Year: Alex Aust, Maryland
Aust exploded for the Terrapins this season, notching over 100 points while facing one of the nation's toughest schedules. An All-ACC team member, she ranks second in the nation in points per game.

Rookie of the Year: Taylor Cummings, Maryland
Cummings made an incredible impact in her first collegiate season, leading the Terps in draw controls while ranking fourth in scoring. Maryland, who entered the NCAA tournament with an undefeated record, had Cummings rank in the top-20 in the nation in draw controls as the Terps ranked in the top-10 as a team.

Goalie of the Year: Mikey Meagher, Florida
Defender of the Year: Becca Block, Syracuse
Midfielder of the Year: Katie Schwarzmann, Maryland
Attacker of the Year: Alex Aust, Maryland
Rookie of the Year: Taylor Cummings, Maryland
Unsung Hero of the Year: Christy Turner, Northwestern
Coach of the Year: Joe Spallina, Stony Brook
