COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Hayley Brown (golf), Lucile Cancre (track & field), Danielle Kauffman (field hockey) and Anna Roth (cross country) all earned the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) Academic Excellence Award.
The 1A FAR have established an award for graduating student-athletes called the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award. The recipients must have graduated in the past academic year with at least a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at an FBS institution in a sport sponsored by an FBS conference.
The award winners are announced each year at the annual fall meeting of the 1A FAR.
Maryland’s Faculty Athletics Representative, Dr. Nick Hadley, said, “This is a tremendous achievement. These four Terrapin student-athletes have truly excelled in the classroom and on the field."
Brown graduated with honors with her degree in marketing from the prestigious Robert H. Smith School of Business. Canre, who graduated Cum Laude, and Kauffman, who graduated Cum Laude and with High Honors, earned their degrees in kinesiology. Roth graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in engineering.
