-For the first time since 2009, Maryland swept an ACC series taking all three games from then-No. 11 NC State over weekend. The Terps outscored the Wolfpack 22-6 in the series.

-The Terps begin the week winners of five in a row and seven of their last nine. During that stretch, the Terps are hitting .275 as a team and are averaging 5.6 runs per game. On the mound, Maryland's team ERA is 2.11, while holding opponents to a .216 batting average.

-Maryland is 11-2 in non-conference action this season and has won 10 straight against out-of-conference opponents. The Terps are holding opponents to a .167 average in those 13 contests and are averaging six runs per game.

-Shortstop Blake Schmit has been the team's offensive catalyst against non-conference foes. Schmit leads the team in average (.370), slugging (.565) and doubles (7), and is ranked or tied for second in OBP (.434), RBI (9), runs (10) and stolen bases (8).

-Projected George Mason starter Michael Bowie faced the Terps in both games last season. In game one (March 26), Bowie scattered seven hits and allowed one earned run over 5-1/3 innings in a no decision. In game two (April 10), the Terps tagged him for four runs in four innings in a 16-1 victory.


- Tuesday's matchup with the Patriots is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Terps and Patriots meet again in College Park on Tuesday, April 8. It marks the seventh straight season Maryland and Mason have played with the Patriots holding a slight 25-23 advantage in the all-time series.

- Maryland and Mason met twice last season with each team picking up a win. The Terps dropped a 3-2 decision in College Park in the first meeting before defeating the Patriots 10-1 at Spuhler Field in game two.
