COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland women’s soccer team kicks off its 2014 spring season on Saturday, April 5 when it takes on the Washington Spirit of the NWSL at the Headers For Hope Spring Showcase.
The Terps and the Spirit will be the feature match of the day and is set for a 7 p.m. start at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance through the Spirit’s website, and are $15 at the door.
Proceeds from the match will benefit Headers For Hope, which, according to its website, "was established in honor of every individual who has been diagnosed with cancer; every family member who has held the hand of their loved one being treated for cancer; and all friends acting as a support system to someone who has been told the news they have cancer. Unfortunately, cancer more often than not hits home, which means this foundation was established for you."
