Team Records and Series Notes
• Maryland improves to 16-3 and 7-1 in the ACC. North Carolina falls to 18-2 and 6-1 in the ACC.
• The Terps avenged their only conference loss of the season with the victory over the Tar Heels and have won five of the past six matchups.
• Maryland is now 36-37 all-time against North Carolina and 19-12 at home. Head coach Brenda Frese improved her record to .500 and stands at 10-10 against UNC.
• Up Next: at Clemson, Sunday, Jan. 27 at 5 p.m.

• Starting line-up: Alicia DeVaughn, Tianna Hawkins, Katie Rutan, Alyssa Thomas
• The Terps' 85 points came on 58.2 percent shooting (32-of-55). It is Maryland's highest shooting percentage of the season and its highest shooting percentage in an ACC game since the Terps shot 62.1 percent at home against Clemson on Jan. 6, 2008.
• Maryland used a 25-12 run over the opening 9:37 of the second half to increase its lead to 25 and pull away for the win.
• After being outscored in the paint 16-14 in the first half, the Terps took control down low and outscored the Tar Heels 26-12 in the second half.
• Continuing a season trend, the Terps outrebounded their opponent for the 34th time in 37 games. Maryland controlled the glass against North Carolina by a 40-31 margin.

Individual Game Notes
• Alyssa Thomas notched her team-high 11th double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Over the last eight games, Thomas has had a double-double in six of them and has scored double-digit points in all of them.
• Tianna Hawkins led all scorers with 25 points. Hawkins has scored in double-figures in 18 of 19 games this season and has nine games with 20 or more points.
Chloe Pavlech finished two points shy of career best with 18 points with 12 coming in the first half. Pavlech also finished 6 for 6 from the line.
• Katie Rutan tied a career high with six rebounds and added 10 points starting in place of Tierney Pfirman.
• Coming off the bench late in the contest, Caitlin Adams scored her first career points off a layup with 10 seconds remaining.
