NASSAU - Sophomore Seth Allen had 26 points and 10 assists en route to leading Maryland to a 97-90 win over the Commonwealth Giants on Wednesday night at Sir Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.

Allen was a blistering nine-of-10 from the field and connected on all five of his three-point attempts in the Terps' second exhibition game of their foreign tour.

Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon elected to utilize a starting lineup of freshman Roddy Peters, sophomore Varun Ram, junior Jacob Susskind, junior Spencer Barks and freshman Damonte Dodd.

"We played a great opponent last night and our guys who traditionally don't play many minutes played well and led us to a good win," Turgeon said.

Sophomore Charles Mitchell contributed 12 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.  Sophomore Jake Layman, who had a game-high 25 points in Maryland's opening win, added 14 points and junior Evan Smotrycz added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Turgeon was pleased to see the strides the Terps made in their second game on the foreign tour.

"I am proud of the poise we displayed late in the game as we made some plays down the stretch to allow us to beat a good team," Turgeon said.

Maryland will have a day off Thursday and will conclude its foreign tour against the Grand Bahamas All-Stars on Friday at 11 a.m.

Notes: Maryland improved to 2-0 on their foreign tour ... Center Shaquille Cleare (back spasms) missed his second consecutive game ... Guard/Forward Dez Wells (sore knee) sat out for precautionary reasons.
