GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland senior lefthander Jimmy Reed and redshirt sophomore Charlie White were named to the 2013 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Team, the league announced Monday.

Reed, who finished 6-4 with a 2.33 ERA, and White, who led the ACC with 39 stolen bases and hit a team-high .350, were named to the second team. It is the second straight season Maryland has had a player named to the All-ACC team after Brett Harman earned the honor last season.

Maryland's Friday night starter, Reed posted career highs in wins (6) and strikeouts (74), and ranked 10th in the ACC in ERA (2.33), while ranking eighth in strikeouts. He is one of six ACC pitchers to throw two or more complete games this season and one of six pitchers to throw a complete game shutout.

Reed tossed his first career complete game shutout in a 1-0 win at Duke on April 26 en route to his first of two ACC Pitcher of the Week awards becoming the first Terrapin pitcher to win the award since 2008. Reed won the award again on May 6 after striking out a career-high 11 in a 7-2 win at then-No. 18 Clemson.

White finished the season highly ranked in several offensive categories. He led the conference with 39 stolen bases, ranked fifth with 75 hits, finished eighth with a .350 batting average, and ranked 10th with a .449 on-base percentage.

The Naperville, Ill., native made his mark early in the season by stealing four bases in game one of a doubleheader against Oakland on Feb. 22, the most stolen bases in a single game this season in the league. He parlayed that performance into an ACC Player of the Week honor becoming the first Terrapin to win the award since 2002.

White's 39 stolen bases is the highest single-season total in school history surpassing Larry Long (33, 1998). For his career, White has swiped 61 bases, one shy of the program record.
