As a Freshman (2005): Played in 33 games, starting 15 ... was often utilized late in games as a pinch runner and defensive replacement ... hit .276 with 10 RBIs and three stolen bases ... hit .321 with runners in scoring position (9-for-28) to lead the team ... made his first career start against Virginia Tech (Mar. 4) and saw time in each game of the series ... started the final two games of the Virginia series, going 3-for-6 with a two-run double and two walks (Mar. 19-20) ... had hits in both games of a doubleheader against Duquesne, going a combined 3-for-7 with two walks and a stolen base ... also recorded his first career outfield assist, throwing out a Duquesne runner with a perfect one-hop throw to home plate (Mar. 22) ... went 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and run in his first start in right field against Temple (Mar. 30) ... started in right field in all three games of the Georgia Tech series (Apr. 1-3) ... hit a leadoff triple in the third inning against UMBC, the first of his career (Apr. 6) ... played in all three games of the Miami series ... At DeMatha: A three-year letterwinner ... team won the WCAC title all three seasons he played ... was All-Journal and All-Gazette his junior and senior years ... won Stags Defensive Player of the Year award and played in the Brooks Robinson All Star Game as a senior ... was an All-WCAC selection as a senior (first team), junior (second team) and sophomore (honorable mention) ... hit .414 during his senior year and finished his prep career without making a single error.

Personal: Son of Rik and Giana Jowers ... has one brother, John, and one sister, Katie ... brother, John, was a member of Maryland's crew team from 2001-03 ... hobbies and interests include basketball, football and poker ... lists his favorite athlete as Nolan Ryan because, "he was gifted, but also worked extremely hard" ... chose Maryland over VMI, Greensboro, Mary Washington, St. Andrews and Guilford ... majoring in economics.
