COLLEGE PARK, Md.-- Senior two-time All-America attackman Matt Hahn scored a season-high four goals as the No. 2 Terps defeated Cornell, 15-8, this afternoon in a windy Byrd Stadium. Hahn stretched his point-scoring streak to 50 games with his third consecutive hat trick and 20th of his career.

After Cornell's Matt Wise knotted the score at 6-6 with an extra-man goal with 5:08 remaining in the second quarter, the Terps proceeded to score seven unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Cornell employed a ball control office, but Maryland's depth and top-ranked attack proved to be too much for the Big Red.

The Terps won 17 of 25 faceoffs, led by Chris Nohe's 6 of 9 performance and Brian Haggerty's 10 of 14 effort. Maryland also outshot the Big Red 39-32.

The game proved to be Maryland's most physical of the season as both team's combined for 15 penalties. Each squad converted two extra-man opportunities; the Big Red had nine extra-man opportunities to the Terps' six.

Other multiple-goal scorers for the Terps were Andrew Whipple and Scott Hochstadt as each added two. Cornell's Ian Hafner and Matt Wise scored two apiece as well.

Maryland improves to 5-0 (1-0 ACC) and travels to No. 8 North Carolina on Saturday, March 21, for a 2 p.m. faceoff in Chapel Hill, N.C. Cornell fell to 1-3.
