As a Redshirt Junior (2016-17): Won seven matches on the season at 133 pounds…won the Southeast Open crown, knocking off #18 Jamal Morris (NC State), 17-16 (11/6)…pinned Lock Haven’s Lewis in Williams in 1:45 (11/20)…majored Virginia’s Will Mason, 8-0 (11/20). 

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2015-16): Finished 7-2 overall on the season at 133 pounds…won all three matches to start the season at Terrapin duals (11/1)…defeated Pittsburgh’s Dom Forys 24-23 for first win (11/1)…knocked off Bryan Lantry (Buffalo) by major decision (11/1)…took out Davidson’s Dustin Runzo by decision (11/1)…bested David Pearce (Drexel) by decision (12/5)…was named the Cliff Kean Outstanding Wrestler in Maryland’s dual over Minnesota, earning a fall over Sam Brancale at 4:27 (1/8)…earned decision over Purdue’s Cody Pae (1/17)...spent two weeks in December ranked at No. 18 in the Intermat Wrestling top-20. 

As a Sophomore (2014-15): Served a redshirt season and competed at 133 pounds…finished second on the team with five wins by fall…finished third at the Nittany Lion Open with all four of his wins coming via pin (12/7)…nabbed a win at the Wilkes Open (12/28)…won the Shorty Hitchcock Open with a 4-0 record (1/18).

As a Freshman (2013-2014): Put together an impressive debut campaign as the starter at 133 pounds...qualified for the NCAA Championships...pinned Shelton Mack of Pitt in the semifinals of the ACC Championships to gain his NCAA bid...finished the season T-4 on the team in fall victories (6), fifth in dual points scores (27) and second in dual bonus points (22)...started his year with two victories by fall at the Terrapin Duals.

Before Maryland: A two-time Maryland state championship at Arundel High School … compiled a record of 167-9 in high school…completed his junior season undefeated…won a gold medal at the 2010 Pan American Cadet Championships…coached by Jim Rubush

Personal: Son of Frank and Terri Goodwin…brothers are Justin and Frank, who wrestled at Maryland...greatest accomplishment was getting a scholarship to Maryland and being on pace to graduate...came to Maryland to represent his home state...hobbies include following sports statistics and watching documentaries...majoring in sociology.
