COLLEGE PARK, Md. – A limited number of spots remain for the University of Maryland volleyball summer camp series, hosted by head coach Steve Aird and the Terrapin coaching staff.
The series features four different camps on the University of Maryland campus, including an individual skills camp (July 11-13), youth day camp (July 14-16), high school day camp (July 21-23) and high school team camp (July 18-20). Satellite camps are also available for interested parties.
“With Maryland’s move to the Big Ten Conference less than a month away, we are continuing to generate a lot of interest in volleyball on campus and the surrounding area,” Aird said. “We are incredibly excited to plant roots in the community and build the sport.”
A member of the Maryland coaching staff will be present and each session and will provide camp opportunities for athletes of all ages and skill levels. The individual camps will focus on teaching fundamentals and helping players gain confidence in their game.
Additionally, the team camp will focus on team training and systems and provide plenty of opportunity to compete against other schools.
The camp will feature an exceptional staff, world-class facilities, air-conditioned dorms and great dining options. Camps will be hosted at Comcast Center – one of the nation’s premier athletic facilities.
Aird has played and coached volleyball at the highest collegiate level for more than 15 years, most recently serving as an assistant coach for the 2013 NCAA Champion Penn State volleyball team. He made three NCAA Final Four appearances as a player from 1997-01 at Penn State.
